Job summary

Peralta Community College District is seeking qualified Part-Time Faculty to deliver engaging instruction and support student achievement in alignment with the district’s mission of equity and excellence. Assignments are on an as-needed basis and may include day, evening, weekend, online, or hybrid classes at any district college.

You will teach, develop syllabi, evaluate progress, submit grades on deadlines, and foster an inclusive learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned courses in accordance with approved course outlines and student learning outcomes.
• Prepare and deliver effective, student-centered instruction using evidence-based teaching practices.
• Develop and maintain course syllabi, instructional materials, assignments, and assessments.
• Evaluate student performance in a timely and equitable manner and maintain accurate academic records.
• Submit grades and other required reports by established deadlines.
• Create an inclusive, respectful, and supportive learning environment for students from diverse backgrounds.
• Maintain regular communication with students and respond promptly to inquiries.
• Utilize the District's learning management system and other instructional technologies as appropriate.
• Comply with District policies, collective bargaining agreements, accreditation standards, and applicable federal and state regulations.
• Participate in department meetings, professional development, and other college activities as appropriate for part-time faculty.
