JOB SUMMARY:

We are a small but rapidly growing plaintiff-side employment law firm based in Los Angeles, California, seeking a skilled, experienced and detail-oriented litigation attorney to join our firm. This is a part-time, fully remote position with significant autonomy, responsibility, and room for growth. You will independently manage all aspects of labor and employment cases in litigation, including single-plaintiff FEHA and wrongful termination cases, wage and hour class actions and PAGA lawsuits.

We are seeking someone interested in a long-term professional relationship. For the right candidate, this role may evolve into a full-time Litigation Chairperson position as the firm expands. Ultimately, this role offers the opportunity to perform impactful work and be part of a mission-driven firm that fights for employees' rights and justice in the workplace.

MORE ABOUT THE ROLE:

You will be trusted to take ownership of your cases from start to finish, working directly with clients and opposing counsel, handling everything from discovery and motion practice to hearings and trial preparation. This is a hands-on role that requires a self-starter comfortable working without a paralegal––at least initially. Strong organizational skills, initiative, and excellent communication are essential.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS (NON-NEGOTIABLE):

  • Licensure and Residence: Licensed to practice law and resides in California;
  • Relevant Experience: Minimum 5 years of labor and employment litigation experience (FEHA, wage and hour, wrongful termination, class actions, PAGA, etc.);
  • Litigation Skills: Proven ability to independently manage all aspects of litigation, including propounding and responding to discovery, taking and defending depositions, law and motion practice, court appearances, and trial prep;
  • Writing and Analysis: Strong writing and analytical skills, with experience drafting motions (including MSJs), oppositions, and discovery responses;
  • Organization: Highly organized and capable of managing numerous cases without support staff;
  • Tech Proficiency: Comfortable using Google Drive, Gmail, Microsoft Word, Adobe, PracticePanther, One/First Legal, LexisNexis, and legal AI tools; and
  • Detail-Oriented: You proofread your work, follow formatting conventions, and take pride in clean, polished documents.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bilingual: Fluent in both English and Spanish (spoken and written); and
  • Trial and arbitration hearing experience

COMPENSATION & WORK ARRANGEMENT:

  • Compensation: Hourly, with competitive rates based on experience;
  • Growth Potential: Opportunities for performance-based bonuses and increased hours as the firm grows;
  • Hours: 15-25 hours per week, depending on caseload; and
  • Location: Fully Remote
