We are seeking a Law Clerk, Student Assistant to join FoundationCCC in its mission of benefitting, supporting, and enhancing the California Community Colleges—the largest and most diverse system of higher education in the nation. This role will start full-time, outside the academic calendar and transition to a part-time position during the academic calendar.
Under the direction of the Senior Staff Counsel, the Law Clerk is responsible for supporting FoundationCCC’s in-house Legal Operations department on a wide range of legal topics, such as: labor and employment, data privacy, intellectual property, contract negotiation, and non-profit governance. The Law Clerk will engage in various tasks, including but not limited to, legal research and writing, contract drafting and lifecycle management, policy drafting and development, corporate compliance and governance, risk assessment, internal client service, and other administrative tasks.
Conduct legal research and draft write-ups and/or memoranda on a wide range of legal topics.
Review and update contracts, and internal policies.
Provide general administrative support to the Legal Operations department, such as proofreading and formatting documents, organizing contract and legal files, filing, preparing correspondence and mailings, processing corporate filings, scheduling appointments, and other administrative tasks.
Must be actively and presently enrolled at an ABA accredited law school; current 2L or 3L students (or part-time program equivalent) preferred.
Background and/or coursework in contract law, business law, and employment law preferred.
Must take initiative; able to work independently and collaboratively.

Budgeted Hourly Pay Range:
$19.00 - $20.00
Final salary and rates are based on education, experience, skills relevant to the role, and internal equity.
