Job summary

UPMC Mercy is seeking a Part Time Kitchen Steward to support dining operations in our hospital food service. You will help maintain sanitation in production, service, and storage areas, and contribute to a safe, inspection-ready environment.

Shifts run 12pm-8:30pm or 12:30pm-9pm with rotating weekends/holidays, offering a hands-on role in cleaning pots, serving assistance, and ensuring meals reach residents promptly. Experience in a healthcare kitchen is a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience in a health-care kitchen or food service preferred.
• Knowledge of sanitation and HACCP guidelines.
• Ability to follow procedures and maintain cleanliness.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize pots, pans, utensils, and small equipment.
• Collect and remove trash; follow recycling guidelines.
• Maintain floors, walls, and service areas in a clean state.
• Assist in light food preparation and serving residents.
• Deliver meals to residents' apartments when requested.
• Monitor temperatures according to guidelines and record as required.
• Maintain HACCP readiness and follow safety procedures.
• Prepare table settings with water, butter, and crackers before meals.
