Job summary

Sodexo is hiring a part-time Utility Worker at Fort Valley State University. You will support kitchen and facility operations by maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and organization across food production and service areas.

Responsibilities include cleaning equipment and surfaces, restocking supplies, and assisting with set-up and break-down tasks. The role requires high school or equivalent, no related work experience, and knowledge of sanitation procedures.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of sanitation procedures, including basic concepts of food safety.
• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• No related work experience.

Responsibilities

• Washes dishes by hand or uses a dishwashing machine.
• Cleans and sanitizes worktables, walls, refrigerators and meat blocks.
• Sweeps, mops, cleans and vacuums floors.
• Removes trash to designated areas.
• Cleans equipment using chemicals to maintain sanitary standards.
• Restocks supplies (soap, paper towels, cleaning materials).
• Significant walking or other mobility required.
• Walk or stand for extended periods; shifts can exceed 8 hours.
• Lift up to 35 lbs routinely; up to 50 lbs occasionally.
• Attends shifts on time and shows dependability.
• Other duties as assigned per account/client requirements.
