Job summary

Lake Hickory Veterinary Hospital is seeking a Part-Time Kennel Assistant to support outstanding patient care and client service in a fast-paced, multi-doctor animal hospital.

The Kennel Assistant handles back-of-house duties, cares for boarding animals, manages feeding schedules, may provide prescribed medications, maintains the kennel area, bathes animals, and communicates with clients to ensure the highest level of care.

Qualifications

• Lifting up to 40 lbs in a fast-paced hospital setting.
• Experience in customer service is preferred.
• Prior experience working with animals in a hospital setting.
• Ability to work effectively in a wet environment.

Responsibilities

• Care for boarding animals and maintain feeding schedules.
• Provide prescribed medications as directed for pets.
• Maintain kennel area through cleaning and mopping.
• Bathe animals and uphold high standards of care.
• Communicate with clients and support hospital operations.
