Job summary

Southern Health Partners is launching a new correctional healthcare program at Worth County Jail in Georgia. We seek a qualified Psychiatrist or Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to provide behavioral health expertise to the healthcare team with a flexible commitment of up to 2 hours per week.

This opportunity allows onsite work at Worth County Jail or telehealth depending on program needs, enabling meaningful care in a correctional setting and collaboration with SHP’s experienced team.

Qualifications

• Psychiatrist or PMHNP with GA license and unrestricted practice.
• Current DEA registration as applicable to scope.
• Psychiatric/behavioral health experience required.
• Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
• Ability to collaborate with an interdisciplinary team.
• Ability to provide services onsite or via telehealth.

Responsibilities

• Provide psychiatric evaluations and clinical assessments.
• Evaluate patients for mental health conditions and treatment needs.
• Develop and recommend treatment plans.
• Manage and monitor psychiatric medications as appropriate.
• Provide consultation on complex behavioral health cases.
• Collaborate with onsite healthcare team for patient care.
• Support continuity of psychiatric and behavioral care.
• Document assessments, recommendations, and services.
• Help establish psychiatric care processes for new site launch.
