Job summary

Midvale City is seeking a part-time IT Intern to join the Information Technology team in Midvale, Utah. Under the IT Manager, you will provide first-level support, assist with hardware/software installs, and help with inventory and surplus procedures for city equipment.

This six-month role offers up to 24 hours per week, with duties including end-user support, ticket monitoring, and basic network troubleshooting.

Qualifications

• Computer knowledge, currently enrolled in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Utah Driver's License and be able to pass pre-employment checks.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; strong hardware/software understanding and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Provide desktop support for end users.
• Monitor incident tickets and status updates in the ticketing system.
• Install and maintain desktop computers and related peripherals.
• Maintain inventory and surplus information for IT equipment.
• Assist with project tasks and weekend/after-hours support as needed.
