Position Details

The Kilgore College Workforce Development and Continuing Education (WDCE) department offers lifelong learning opportunities for adults in the community. This is a part‑time instructor position. Instruction times vary depending on the course. Part‑time instructors are added to the instructor pool and will instruct on a course‑by‑course basis as needed.

Responsibilities

The successful applicant will be responsible for delivering short‑term training in day‑time, evening, or weekend courses related to obtaining a Class A Commercial Driver’s License. Specific duties include:

• Writing and reviewing course descriptions and learning outcomes.
• Building or supplementing curriculum as needed.
• Providing instruction and ensuring all training elements comply with state and federal laws and regulations.

Minimum Qualifications

• Current Class A Commercial Driver’s License with tanker endorsement and at least five years of truck driving experience.
• Preferably a minimum associate’s degree.
• Training experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Effective presentation and computer skills.
• Strong organization, thoroughness, and ability to work well with little supervision.
• Patience, teaching ability, and listening skills.
• Professional, courteous demeanor when dealing with a diverse student and employee population.
