Qualifications

• Current Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) or Illinois Substitute License or ELS(PARA) preferred, but not required.
• High School Diploma required.
• Minimum of sixty (60) hours of credit from a recognized institution of higher education.
• Bachelor’s degree in Education is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Instruct children in assigned subjects, direct and guide students' learning throughout the day, and adjust instructional level to meet individual needs.
• Attend to lesson planning, preparing materials, helping individual students, and meeting with principal on instructional issues.
• Confer with parents regarding student progress and communicate educational concerns to parents and supervisors.
• Participate in faculty meetings and professional development activities as directed by the principal.
• Supervise students before, during, and after school and assist with discipline as directed by the principal.
