Job summary

Mesa Public Schools in Arizona seeks a part-time instructional aide to work with students academically disadvantaged in reading, writing, and math under direct supervision. You will assist with classroom activities, translation when necessary, and support staff to implement learning plans.

Requirements include an Associate degree or 60 college credits (or ParaPro test). Calendar is 9.25 months and the base hourly rate is $16.56; performance pay is available annually.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or 60 college credits required at time of hire or pass the ParaPro Test provided by the district
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) may be preferred at some sites

Responsibilities

• Work in close proximity with assigned teacher and specific students
• Assist students, individually or in groups, to reinforce skills and/or oversee learning activities
• Follow written plans to supplement classroom instruction
• Assist with classroom computer instruction
• Assist with translation when necessary
• Participate in professional development to enhance ability to support student achievement
• Participate as a stakeholder in school improvement initiatives
• Complete training to assist in the administration and scoring of assessments
• Regular and on-time attendance required
• Perform other related duties as assigned to support the work unit
• Assists with other assigned duties as appropriate to the area of assignment
