Job summary

Holland Public Schools is seeking an Instructional Assistant to support students at Jefferson Elementary. The position is part-time with a 29-hour workweek, typically 6 hours per day on Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri and 5 hours on Wednesday. Compensation ranges from $16.64 to $20.09 per hour.

The role involves assisting certified staff and reinforcing lessons in the classroom. Qualifications include 60 college credits or state tests, preferred bilingual ability, and prior experience with special needs

Qualifications

• Must meet educational requirements of either 60 college credits or successful completion of State approved tests.
• Preference given to candidates who are bilingual.
• Prior experience working with special needs children is desirable.
• Ability to carry out instructions and follow provided lesson plans and responsibilities.
• Ability to be punctual and maintain regular attendance.

Responsibilities

• Maintain records and confidentiality.
• Ability to carry out instructions and reinforce lesson plans.
• Provide instructional reinforcement for individual students or small groups.
• Assist teacher with classroom management and general supervision of the class.
• Assist with administrative duties such as setting up equipment and preparing materials.
• Proficiency with Google Docs/Sheets and Microsoft Office.
• Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
• Follow policies and ensure safety in the classroom.
• Demonstrate punctuality and collaborative teamwork.
• Support district initiatives and other duties as assigned.
