Job summary

Westwood Public Schools is seeking energized Instructional Assistants to join our elementary teams across four schools and the integrated preschool. Qualifications

• High school diploma required; bachelor's degree preferred.
• Experience working with students is highly preferred.
• Ability to work under teacher supervision and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Work under teacher supervision with students to support learning of materials or skills in both pull-out and in-class settings.
• Support students acquisition of skills with equipment, technology, or other instructional materials as assigned by the teacher.
• Guide independent study, enrichment work, and remedial work supervised and assigned by the teacher.
• Administer and monitor testing as the teacher directs (i.e., testing accommodations, extended time).
• Assist the teacher in devising strategies to reinforce material based on individual needs.
• Maintain data regarding student progress and share with supervising teacher as needed.
• Communicate effectively with students, staff, and community members as directed.
