Job summary

JCC Greater Boston's Godine Early Learning Center in Newton, MA seeks a Child Development Specialist to provide direct support and consultation to infants and toddlers, their families, and teaching staff. You will collaborate with external agencies, develop individual education plans, and deliver trainings, while fostering developmentally appropriate practices in our inclusive program.

Qualifications

• Requires a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Early Childhood Special Education, Child Development, Developmental Psychology, Social Work or related field.
• Two or more years experience in a related field. Experience in early childhood teaching preferred.
• Experience with Early Intervention Program required.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive developmental support to children and families through assessment, individualized planning, consultation, collaboration, referrals, staff support, and specialized services.
• Work with parents, teachers and staff to support infants/toddlers in the classroom.
• Develop written individual educational plans for children in the ELC with clear strategies and goals.
• Provide families and team members with supportive communications, referrals and resources.
• Attend multidisciplinary meetings and provide training and development to staff.
• Support daily running of the ELC as needed.
