Job summary

JCC Greater Boston is seeking a Child Development Specialist for our Godine Early Learning Center in Newton, MA. The CDS provides developmental support and consultation to children, families, and staff, coordinating with outside agencies to maximize each child’s potential.

The role collaborates with teaching teams to ensure developmentally appropriate practices and offers training and support to staff. This part-time, salaried position emphasizes family engagement and program excellence.

Qualifications

• Master’s level degree in Early Childhood Education, Early Childhood Special Education, Child Development, Developmental Psychology, Social Work or related field.
• Two or more years experience in a related field; Early Intervention experience preferred.
• Experience with Early Intervention Program required.

Responsibilities

• Provide developmental support to children and families through assessment, planning, consultation and referrals.
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to implement developmentally appropriate practices.
• Develop written individual educational plans pertaining to the ELC with clear strategies and goals.
• Support families and team with resources and referrals to outside services as needed.
• Attend multidisciplinary meetings to advocate for and discuss progress and goals.
