Job summary

The Learning Experience - Byron Center in Byron Center, MI is seeking a nurturing Part-Time Infant Assistant Teacher to join our Infant A classroom three days per week.

You will support daily routines, assist with feeding and diapering, and create a warm environment that promotes baby development through age-appropriate activities and responsive care. Collaboration with Lead Teachers is essential for a smooth, loving program.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous childcare experience preferred.
• Patient, nurturing, dependable, and team-oriented.
• Must meet Michigan childcare licensing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Support daily routines and learning experiences in the Infant A classroom.
• Assist with feeding, diapering, sleep, tummy time and individualized care.
• Engage infants through sensory play, music, movement and language.
• Support development across physical, cognitive, language and social-emotional areas.
• Provide attentive supervision and responsive care.
• Maintain each infant's schedule and routine.
• Collaborate with Lead Teachers and center leadership.
• Keep the classroom clean, safe, organized and nurturing.

Part-Time Infant Assistant Teacher

Location: The Learning Experience - Byron Center, MI

Pay: $16-$18 per hour, based on experience

Schedule: Part-Time, 3 days per week

Classroom: Infant A

The Learning Experience - Byron Center is seeking a nurturing and dependable Part-Time Infant Assistant Teacher to join our Infant A classroom three days per week.

This is a great opportunity for someone who loves working with babies and wants a consistent part-time schedule. You'll work alongside our classroom teachers to provide responsive care, support important developmental milestones, and create a warm environment where our youngest learners feel safe, secure, and loved.

Key Responsibilities

• Support daily routines and learning experiences in the Infant A classroom
• Assist with feeding, diapering, sleep, tummy time, and individualized care routines
• Engage infants through sensory play, music, movement, language, and age-appropriate activities
• Support physical, cognitive, language, and social-emotional development
• Provide attentive supervision and responsive care
• Help maintain each infant's individual schedule and routine
• Build positive and trusting relationships with children and families
• Collaborate with Lead Teachers and center leadership
• Maintain a clean, safe, organized, and nurturing classroom
• Follow Michigan childcare licensing, health, and safety requirements

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• Previous childcare, daycare, or experience working with infants preferred
• Professional infant classroom experience is a plus
• Patient, nurturing, dependable, and team-oriented
• Comfortable with feeding, diapering, and other infant care routines
• Must meet applicable Michigan childcare licensing requirements
