Job summary

The Learning Experience in Byron Center, MI is seeking a nurturing Part-Time Infant Assistant Teacher to join our Infant A classroom three days per week. You will support daily routines, assist with feeding, diapering, sleep, tummy time, and age-appropriate activities, while promoting safe, secure, and loving care for babies.

This role offers a consistent part-time schedule, paid training, and opportunities for development within a supportive teaching team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous childcare, daycare, or experience working with infants preferred.
• Patient, nurturing, dependable, and team-oriented.
• Comfortable with feeding, diapering, and other infant care routines.
• Must meet applicable Michigan childcare licensing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Support daily routines and learning experiences in the Infant A classroom.
• Assist with feeding, diapering, sleep, tummy time, and individualized care routines.
• Engage infants through sensory play, music, movement, language, and age-appropriate activities.
• Support physical, cognitive, language, and social-emotional development.
• Provide attentive supervision and responsive care.
• Help maintain each infant's individual schedule and routine.
• Build positive and trusting relationships with children and families.
• Collaborate with Lead Teachers and center leadership.
• Maintain a clean, safe, organized, and nurturing classroom.
• Follow Michigan childcare licensing, health, and safety requirements.
