Job summary

Thrive Pet Healthcare is hiring a Veterinary Assistant/Client Service Representative at Animal Junction Veterinary Clinic in Ontario, NY. This hybrid, part-time role combines front-desk duties with assisting veterinarians and licensed vet technicians during procedures, ensuring a welcoming client and patient experience.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year in animal care, strong attention to detail, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. HS diploma required; inventory experience helpful.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience in animal husbandry.
• Attention to detail and organizational skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent; AAS or higher preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform daily physical tasks.
• Inventory/purchasing experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Educate and educate clients on procedures and next steps.
• Assist DVMs and LVTs with patients during pre-op, surgery, and post-op.
• Stock exam and treatment rooms; maintain sterile environments for treatment, x-ray, surgery, labs, and isolation wards.
• Record patient history and maintain medical records in systems.
• Dispense pharmaceuticals as required.
• Place weekly inventory orders and manage on-hand inventory.
