Job summary

CROSSING is seeking an experienced HR Generalist for maternity leave coverage in Irvine, CA. This on-site, part-time role (24 hours/week) covers payroll, onboarding, benefits, compliance, and employee relations, and partners with managers to support a positive employee experience.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in HR, hands-on payroll experience (Rippling preferred), and solid knowledge of California employment laws to ensure compliant, confidential handling of people matters.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in HR Generalist, HR Manager, People Operations, or similar role.
• Hands-on experience processing payroll and supporting day-to-day HR operations.
• Working knowledge of California employment laws and HR compliance requirements.
• Experience supporting employee relations and providing guidance to managers.
• Experience with recruiting, onboarding, and benefits administration.
• Strong organization, judgment, attention to detail, and ability to handle confidential information.
• Experience with Rippling strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• HR Operations & Payroll: Manage biweekly payroll, maintain records, and process changes.
• Recruiting & Onboarding: Support postings, resume review, interviews, and onboarding.
• Employee Relations: Support managers with performance, attendance, and day-to-day matters.
• Benefits & Compliance: Manage benefits administration, leave, workers’ compensation, and ensure compliance.
