Job summary

Mercy Medical Center, part of Trinity Health Of New England, is hiring a Part-time Security Officer to protect patients, staff and visitors and to enforce hospital policies on campus. You will help maintain a safe, secure environment and respond to incidents with professionalism and judgment. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, valid state guard licensing, and basic PC skills; prior security experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• All state-specific licensing requirements including permanent Guard cards.
• Six (6) months or more of private security, law enforcement or relevant military experience preferred.
• Knowledge of PC based applications in a Windows environment.
• Excellent customer services skills. Ability to think and act quickly in crisis situations.
• Valid driver’s license, preferred. Must be 21 years of age to operate Hospital vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Provides for the safety and security of all persons and property for patients, visitors, and colleagues on hospital campus.
• Assists staff with argumentative, belligerent and combative individuals and may participate in a Restraint Team when directed by medical staff.
• Patrols assigned areas, reports incidents, and investigates unusual occurrences to prevent losses.
