Job summary

The GEO Group, Inc. is recruiting a Hospital Officer to supervise detainees in a hospital setting, ensuring custody, safety, and compliance with guarding procedures.

The role requires strict adherence to protocols, documentation, and attention to security details. Qualified candidates will have prior corrections or law enforcement experience, valid firearms and security licenses, and the ability to work extended shifts and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3 years’ experience handling prisoners as a law enforcement, corrections, or military police officer.
• State firearms license required and valid security guard license.
• Training/certification in corrections, law enforcement, or military.

Responsibilities

• Maintain custody and control of detainees in hospital at all times.
• Follow restraint protocols per Medical Guarding Procedures.
• Ensure restraints do not interfere with medical procedures or harm detainees.
• Maintain detainee positioning within eyesight at all times.
• Prevent outside visits unless contract or court order requires.
• Limit detainee telephone calls unless contract requires.
• Complete paperwork and reports for Transportation Supervisor.
• Log all events in the duty log and report unusual events promptly.
• Ensure detainees are secured before leaving the hospital.
• Follow all safety laws, regulations, and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
