Job summary

Geisinger Behavioral Health Center Danville is seeking a Part-Time Cook to support nutritious, high-quality meals for patients and staff. You will prepare food according to approved menus, maintain a clean and safe kitchen, and collaborate with the Dietitian and Food Service leadership to ensure varied, balanced and appetizing options while supporting inventory and daily operations.

Two or more years in institutional food service and a high school diploma are preferred, with ServSafe or similar

Qualifications

• Two or more years of experience in food service preparing food for institutions (hospital, school or cafeteria).
• Strong attention to food safety and sanitation practices.
• Ability to work collaboratively with dietitians and leadership to ensure balanced menus.

Responsibilities

• Cook and prepare food according to approved menus.
• Direct activities of workers assisting in meal preparation and serving.
• Maintain cleanliness and inspect equipment and work areas for safety and functionality.
• Take inventory of supplies and coordinate with leadership on menus and production.
