Job summary

BAYADA Hospice in Tucson, AZ is seeking a compassionate part-time Hospice Physician to join our Arizona Tucson Hospice team. You will provide expert medical care, comfort, and support to patients and families at home and in the community.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree required.
• Current, unrestricted license to practice medicine in Arizona.
• Current, unrestricted DEA registration and prescribing authority.
• Licensed physician with at least two years of recent clinical experience.
• Hospice experience preferred but not required; experience in palliative care or geriatrics is valued.
• Knowledge of hospice regulations and Medicare requirements.
• Strong clinical judgment and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a physician resource to hospice patients, families, attending physicians, and interdisciplinary team.
• Participate in the every-other-week interdisciplinary group meeting and comprehensive patient assessments.
• Review admissions and recertifications; document terminal illness eligibility per Medicare hospice requirements.
• Oversee medical care related to terminal illness, including pain and symptom management.
• Review medications and services to ensure care aligns with patient goals.
• Collaborate with attending physicians and hospice clinicians on clinical and ethical concerns.
