Job summary

Beaufort County School District is seeking a certified Homebound Teacher (part-time) to provide instructional services to students on Medical Homebound. The teacher will collaborate with the Chief Student Services Officer, design individualized instructional plans, and deliver engaging lessons to students unable to attend school due to medical reasons.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid teaching certificate.
• Ability to provide learning experiences in a variety of settings.
• Broad knowledge of curriculum/instruction.
• Basic understanding and knowledge of use of current technology.
• Knowledge of learning styles and skill in using varied teaching methods to address student learning styles.
• Ability to maintain appropriate student supervision so that students have a safe and orderly environment in which to learn.
• Skill in oral and written communication with students, parents and others as required.

Responsibilities

• Meet with each assigned student on a regularly scheduled basis for instruction.
• Devise, with the advice of the student's regular teacher, an instructional program for each student.
• Provide a learning environment that meets diverse needs and backgrounds.
• Deliver instructional strategies that engage students in meaningful learning experiences.
• Complete and provide written reports as required by the Principal or Chief Student Services Officer.
