Job summary

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools is seeking a homebound teacher to provide instruction to students who are hospitalized or homebound. Under moderate supervision, you will develop lesson plans, collaborate with classroom staff, and ensure continuity of instruction between home and school in accordance with Board of Education policies.

The ideal candidate holds a valid North Carolina teaching license in the assigned area and a Bachelor's degree, with at least three years of teaching experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Three years of experience teaching students.
• Valid NC Teaching license in assigned area.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all state, federal, and local laws, policies, and procedures.
• Plan and implement a program of study in the assigned content area that meets the needs, interests, and abilities of assigned students.
• Provide direct educational instruction to homebound students.
• Consult with teachers and staff; implement instructional activities provided by the student's teacher of record.
• Implement lesson plans to assure continuity of instruction between classroom and home.
• Maintain accurate records in accordance with policies.
