Job summary

You will prepare samples, program tissue processors and slide stainers, maintain records, and assist with billing and equipment maintenance.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Histotechnology or equivalent required.
• Two years of laboratory histology experience preferred.
• Experience substituting education for experience per university policy may apply.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day technical procedures on clinical and research specimens.
• Prepare tissue samples for microscopic examination by a pathologist or investigator.
• Perform grossing/dissection of small specimens using anatomy knowledge.
• Accession and bill projects.
• Program tissue processors and slide stainer.
• Perform routine histology on human and animal specimens and execute staining procedures.
• Maintain quality assurance and report discrepancies for remediation.
• Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.
• Keep accurate and detailed records and assist with billing.
