Job summary

Johns Hopkins Intrastaff is seeking a detail-oriented Histotechnologist to perform routine and advanced histology procedures that support accurate diagnostic results at Sibley Memorial Hospital, Washington, DC.

The role requires processing tissue specimens, microtomy, staining, and quality control while maintaining safety standards and timely turnaround. On-site, Monday–Friday schedule with competitive compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

• Requires Associate's or Bachelor's in Medical Technology or life sciences.
• Experience with tissue processing, embedding, microtomy, and staining.
• Proficiency with LIS and data entry.

Responsibilities

• Perform tissue embedding, microtomy, routine H&E staining, and special stains.
• Prepare surgical pathology, cytology, and autopsy specimens.
• Cut paraffin blocks at 5-6 microns and ensure quality.
• Maintain quality control, safety, and regulatory compliance.
• Operate and maintain histology equipment and LIS.
