Job summary

CTA Pathology in Seattle is seeking an experienced Histotech/Mohs Technologist for a part-time role with a 11am–3pm shift and potential growth to full-time. The ideal candidate will support receiving, processing, and preparing tissue specimens for microscopic analysis by the Pathologist.

Responsibilities include logging, batching, cutting, mounting and staining, as well as performing rapid frozen sections for intraoperative consultations and maintaining high-quality control logs to support

Qualifications

• Experience in tissue processing, embedding, and microtomy.
• Proficiency in H&E and special staining.
• Experience with IHC and frozen sections.
• Ability to maintain equipment and troubleshoot instruments.
• Knowledge of QC procedures and CAP/CLIA regulatory requirements.
• Experience with LIS systems.
• Handle 300+ tissue blocks per shift with automated microtome.
• Perform rapid frozen sections for intraoperative consultations.
• Maintain daily quality control logs and support accreditation efforts.

Responsibilities

• Prepare tissue specimens for microscopic examination by the Pathologist.
• Log, batch, cut, mount and stain tissue samples.
• Prioritize specimens according to urgency and standards.
• Assist with rapid frozen sections for intraoperative consultations.
• Maintain quality control logs and support accreditation activities.
