Job summary

North Idaho Dermatology Inc. in Coeur d'Alene, ID, is seeking a Histotechnician to support Mohs and Surgical Pathology labs. The role prepares tissue sections, performs IHC, and ensures timely workflow for accurate diagnoses.

The ideal candidate has an Associate degree or higher in laboratory science and Mohs sectioning experience; training is available. Position may be part-time or full-time with day shifts.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in Laboratory Science, Chemical Science, or Biological Science.
• Bachelor's degree in chemistry or biology preferred.
• 60 semester hours with 24 science credits required including chemistry/biology.
• Willing to train; histology experience preferred.
• Mohs frozen sectioning experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and process frozen tissue specimens for Mohs micrographic surgery.
• Embed, section, stain, and mount frozen tissue sections with precision.
• Perform routine H&E staining and special stains.
• Prepare paraffin-embedded tissue blocks and microtome sections.
• Ensure proper specimen identification and chain of custody.
• Assist pathologists with slide prep and ancillary testing needs.
• Follow CLIA, OSHA, HIPAA standards and maintain documentation.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and quality control in the labs.
