Southwestern Healthcare, Inc. is seeking a part-time HIM Assistant to manage access to protected health information and ensure accuracy and security of patient records.

The role emphasizes a supportive, flexible environment with a focus on teamwork within the HIM department. You will release PHI to authorized individuals, scan and file documents into the EHR, and support department projects while delivering excellent customer service to clients and treatment providers.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Prior medical office experience and EHR experience preferred.
• Knowledge of HIPAA guidelines required.
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel and clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Release protected health information to authorized individuals per guidelines.
• Scan and file all paper documents into the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
• Assist with department projects as needed.
• Provide excellent customer service to clients, the public, and treatment providers.
• Promote teamwork within the HIM department.
