Job summary

Garmin seeks a High School Work Study (Part-time) at its U.S. headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area (Olathe, KS). You will support either the Distribution Center or Manufacturing Center by loading, unloading, assembling electronic components, and following procedures.

The role emphasizes safety, dexterity, and teamwork in a fast-paced environment. Ideal candidates are 16 or older, capable of lifting up to 55 pounds, and comfortable working with computers and hand tools.

Qualifications

• Must be detail oriented and able to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Must be a minimum of 16 years old.
• Must be able to bend, twist and lift up to 55 pounds and stand/walk long distances.

Responsibilities

• Assemble electronic components, subassemblies and systems.
• Read shop orders and follow production instructions.
• Position and align parts using jig, fixture or holding device.
• Mount components on chassis, PCB boards or enclosures.
• Install finished assemblies in cases/cabinets and attach hardware.
• Perform intermediate assembly tasks and housekeeping to maintain a safe work area.
