Job summary

Garmin is seeking a High School Work Study (Part-time) at its U.S. headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area. The role may work in the Distribution Center or Manufacturing Center, assembling components and following procedures as assigned.

You must be at least 16 years old, capable of lifting up to 55 pounds, and possess strong computer skills and dexterity to handle small parts and tools. Seasonal benefits are available for this position.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Able to bend, lift up to 55 pounds and stand for a full shift.
• Strong manual dexterity and eye coordination.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient with computers.
• Ability to read and follow procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assemble electronic components, subassemblies and systems.
• Read work orders and follow production instructions and samples.
• Position parts using jigs/fixtures and hold devices with tools.
• Mount components on chassis, PCB or panels.
• Install assemblies in cases and cabinets.
• Assemble hardware using hand/power tools.
• Perform intermediate tasks like potting, coating and curing.
• Tend machines and perform preventive maintenance.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment.
• Cross-train to learn material handler functions.
• Comply with safety standards and attendance policy.
