Job summary

Middlesex School is seeking a Part-time Assistant Athletic Trainer to provide athletic trainer coverage for its athletic programs. The role operates under Massachusetts licensing standards and National Athletic Trainers Association guidelines.

Responsibilities include first aid, injury rehab, event coverage on- and off-campus, injury risk reduction, and accurate reporting in SportsWare while communicating with coaches, parents, and health care providers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in athletic training required.
• BOC certification and Massachusetts state license required.
• Current CPR, First Aid and AED certificates.
• NATA member.
• Excellent knowledge of human anatomy and physiology.

Responsibilities

• Provide first aid and injury assessment for Middlesex student athletes.
• Provide rehabilitation services for Middlesex student athletes.
• Care & coverage for on-campus and some off-campus events and practices as assigned by Head Athletic Trainer.
• Apply indicated injury risk reduction methods to students.
• Provide respectful communication, within confidentiality limits, between coaches, parents and health care providers.
• File all necessary reports associated with athletic injuries or incidents in SportsWare or written forms.
• Maintain a daily treatment log in SportsWare.
• Supply each team with appropriate medical equipment.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
