Job summary

Ivy Tech Community College seeks adjunct faculty to teach HLHS 101 (Medical Terminology) and non-clinical courses. Responsibilities include delivering classes, developing materials, and maintaining student records in line with FERPA and college policies.

Qualifications

• Possesses an earned baccalaureate or higher degree from a regionally accredited institution.
• Has a minimum of 2 years directly related work experience.
• Holds certification or licensure in a health care discipline providing care or service directly to patients.
• Holds Workplace Specialist License granted by the Indiana Department of Education in Health Science or Dental Careers with relevant medical Terminology coursework.
• College level teaching experience.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates student learning by delivering assigned classes in accordance with college policy and course objectives.
• Develops/maintains course outlines, syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, tests, and materials.
• Maintains accurate student records, grades, and other requirements.
• Engages with students in meaningful and productive ways that impact student learning and leads to a positive experience with Ivy Tech Community College.
• Interacts with students and co-workers in a professional and cooperative manner, complies with college policies.
• Ensures knowledge of emergency and safety procedures for classrooms, labs, and all learning environments.
• Provide academic-related coaching and academic monitoring to assigned student advisees.
• Monitor and document student performance, provide interventions, and referrals to resources.
• Maintain posted office hours and student engagement hours per policy.
• Promote and assist in student recruitment, retention, and successful completion of programs.

Education

Earned baccalaureate or higher degree from a regionally accredited institution

Minimum of 2 years directly related work experience
