Job summary

Shady Grove Center For Nursing & Rehabilitation is seeking a detail-oriented Part-Time Receptionist to serve as the first point of contact for visitors, families, vendors, and staff. You will manage switchboard duties, greet guests, and maintain essential records in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

The role emphasizes strong communication, confidentiality, and teamwork. Part-time hours are Monday throughFriday with additional weekend coverage as needed, in Rockville, MD.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
• 1 year of experience in an administrative or healthcare setting.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Typing speed of at least 35 words per minute.

Responsibilities

• Operate the switchboard and paging system, responding to phone calls and messages in a timely and professional manner.
• Greet and screen visitors, directing them to the appropriate person or area.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including the resident census, emergency phone numbers, department extensions, and personnel information.
• Handle typing and filing of correspondence and outgoing mail for various departments as needed.
• Distribute daily census information to department heads and perform other administrative tasks as assigned.
• Manage employee lunch tickets, order supplies, resident funds, and banking transactions.
• Adhere to confidentiality and HIPAA guidelines in all tasks.
• Collaborate with leadership to prioritize tasks and ensure seamless operations.
