Porter-Starke Services, Inc. is seeking a part-time Housekeeping staff member to work 20 hours per week at our Gary, IN location. The role involves cleaning and sanitizing patient and public areas in a non-profit community health center environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or G.E.D. and experience with a nursing home or hospital are preferred.

Responsibilities

• General understanding of housekeeping techniques as outlined by state and government regulations.
• Use of chemicals and cleansers when performing duties.
• Follow health care housekeeping procedures and infection control.
• Use proper safety, environmental, and infection control procedures.
• Clean and sanitize lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, offices and client rooms.
• Sweep, scrub, wax, and polish floors.
• Dust furniture.
• Empties wastebaskets and transports trash to disposal area; replenish bathroom supplies.
• Basic computer usage.
• Clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture and draperies or blinds.
• Wash walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, door panels and sills.
• Complete reports as requested.
• Other duties as assigned
