Job summary

HAND IN HAND OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY OF LONG ISLAND in Hauppauge, NY, is seeking a part-time OT/Hand Therapist for on-site care. The role involves evaluating and treating clients with hand, wrist, elbow, shoulder and cervical conditions, and creating individualized treatment plans.

You will fabricate or adjust orthoses, document care, and collaborate with a small team while educating patients and families on home exercise programs and injury prevention.

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice occupational therapy in New York (OTR/L).
• Experience or strong interest in hand therapy and upper-extremity rehabilitation; CHT is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat clients with hand, wrist, elbow, shoulder and cervical conditions.
• Develop and update individualized treatment plans.
• Fabricate or adjust custom orthoses/splints.
• Document care in accordance with professional standards.
• Collaborate with referring providers, caregivers, and other team members.
• Educate patients and families on home exercise programs, injury prevention and adaptive techniques.
• Contribute to a patient-centered environment and participate in quality improvement.
