Responsibilities

• Oversee coordination of Guest Service teams including greeters, ushers, parking, welcome hosts, coffee hospitality, and medical teams.
• Ensure weekly scheduling needs are met.
• Lead Planning Center scheduling, communication, and check-ins.
• Provide direct leadership for the greeting team.
• Be present and available to help with needs on Sunday mornings.
• Assist with recruiting, onboarding, and training new volunteers.
• Coordinate fellowship gatherings and annual trainings for Guest Services teams.
• Provide care and encouragement to volunteers.

SUMMARY

The Church at Avenue South Guest Services Coordinator is responsible to the church, under the direction of the Connection Minister, for providing support and assistance to all members and guests of Avenue South. This role coordinates and organizes volunteers serving on Avenue South’s Guest Services teams on Sunday mornings and during special events, ensuring a warm, welcoming, and safe environment for all who attend.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

may include but are not limited to the following:

• Oversee the coordination of Guest Service teams, including greeters, ushers, parking lot, welcome hosts, welcome desk, coffee hospitality, and medical teams
• Ensure weekly scheduling needs are met
• Serve as a subject matter expert for Planning Center, assisting team and volunteers with scheduling, communication, and check-ins
• Provide direct leadership for the greeting team
• Be present and available to help with various needs that arise on Sunday mornings
• Assist with recruiting, onboarding, and training new volunteers
• Coordinate fellowship gatherings and annual trainings for Guest Services teams
• Provide care and encouragement to volunteers

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

• Collaborate regularly with the Connection Minister, reporting at least quarterly on initiatives, needs, and goals
• Lead regular Guest Services team meetings alongside Connection Minister, clearly communicating vision, strategy, and operational goals
• Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS:

• A mature Christian who demonstrates the Fruit of the Spirit, is growing in their faith, and is committed to spiritual disciplines such as Bible reading and prayer.
• A personal sense of calling from God to serve in the local church and in particular Connection ministry.
• Can identify closely with the mission, values, vision, theology, philosophy and methodology of Brentwood Baptist Church.
• The proven ability to identify, equip and lead a team of volunteers.
• The proven ability to think strategically and creatively when it comes to working with ministry models and paradigms.
• Can collaborate, cooperate and function well in a team environment.
• Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• Preferred Bachelor’s degree or a minimum of two years of related experience serving in the local church or Christian ministry context.
