Job summary

Hometown Grocers, Inc. seeks a Guest Services Clerk to support the service counter and strengthen guest relations with advanced service techniques. You will handle inquiries, assist with purchasing decisions, and resolve complaints to ensure a smooth shopping experience.

As a part-time hourly associate, you’ll process transactions, support other cashiers, and help guests with exchanges, refunds, and promotions while maintaining high attendance and courtesy at all times.

Qualifications

• Minimum availability must include 16 hours a week with a minimum of 8 hours per day during available days.
• Ability to process information/merchandise through register system
• Ability to communicate with associates and guests
• Ability to read, count, and write accurately
• Ability to operate all equipment necessary to perform the job
• Knowledge of wide range of goods and services of Hometown Grocers
• Ability to deal with multiple projects simultaneously
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and guest service skills
• Should have sound practical judgment of priorities
• Interest in helping and working with guests

Responsibilities

• Takes ownership to take care of guest needs directly face-to-face, electronically, or by telephone
• Responds to guest inquiries regarding offers, promotions, and events
• Resolves guest complaints following store guidelines
• Process transactions accurately and maintain cash and media at registers
• Distribute cashier tills and partner with cashiers
• Record details of comments, inquiries, complaints, and actions taken
• Provide exchanges, refunds, discounts, coupons, or other offers related to guest activity
• Perform guest verifications, processing orders, applications, forms, and requests
• Hands additional service like DMV, Lottery, Rug Doctor, and ticket sales
• Direct unresolved issues to the designated resource
• Maintain and develop guest service standards and policies
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Ensure quality standards are met at 100% by 10 am and 5 pm
• Maintain regular attendance as per schedule
