SunSoft Online LLC in Tempe/Phoenix metro area is hiring a part-time Accountant for a city government client. 20 hours per week, Monday–Friday 8:00 AM–5:00 PM window; schedule arranged with department. Pay is $20 to $27 per hour (W2). Duration: 2026-11-02 to 2027-06-30.

Two positions available. Responsibilities include detailed analytical accounting and reporting for assigned accounts. You will reconcile balances, prepare journal entries, manage fixed assets and depreciation, assist month/year

Qualifications

• Experience with governmental accounting.
• Proficiency in PeopleSoft, Workiva, Debtbook and Microsoft Excel.
• Microsoft 365 experience.
• At least one year of accounting or related experience.
• Working knowledge of GAAP, financial statements, tax regulations and cost accounting.

Responsabilités

• Maintain and reconcile ledgers and accounts, examine transactions for accuracy and correct records as needed.
• Prepare transactions across general ledger, payroll, accounts payable, fixed assets and property taxes.
• Prepare and review input data for monthly financial reports, including journal entries.
• Research and resolve cash reconciling items between the general ledger, the bank and accounting subsystems.
• Monitor financial transactions and maintain internal controls.
• Review employee travel requisitions for cost effectiveness.
