The Virginian Golf Club Inc. in Bristol, VA is seeking a Cook for the Tasting Room. This part-time, non-exempt position supports high-volume kitchen operations, food preparation, and plating with attention to safety and quality.

You will work closely with the culinary team to maintain consistent service, prep ingredients, and assist with menu development in a hospitality-driven setting. Prior pizza prep or winery/tasting room experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience: 2–3 years of experience as a cook or line cook in a high-volume restaurant.
• Solid culinary knowledge, strong knife skills, and ability to execute consistent cooking techniques.

Responsabilités

• Prepare and cook menu items according to The Tasting Room's recipes, portion standards, and presentation guidelines.
• Set up and stock stations with necessary ingredients, tools, and equipment prior to each service.
• Execute dishes efficiently and consistently during service, maintaining accuracy, timing, and quality under pressure.
• Monitor temperatures, cooking times, and portion sizes to ensure consistency and compliance with culinary standards.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene protocols in accordance with local health regulations and company policy.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked workstation throughout each shift.
• Assist with product receiving, rotation, and storage to preserve freshness and reduce waste.
• Properly operate, clean, and maintain kitchen equipment and utensils.
• Communicate and collaborate effectively with chefs, fellow cooks, and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service flow.
• Support menu development, special events, and seasonal offerings as directed by the culinary leadership team.
• Contribute to a positive, respectful, and team-oriented kitchen culture that reflects The Tasting Room’s commitment to excellence and hospitality.
