Job summary

Enger Park Golf Course in Duluth, MN, is seeking a part-time Starter/Ranger II to welcome players, explain daily rules, start groups, and maintain pace of play. The role is seasonal, lasting up to 6 months, with hourly pay of $13.50–$14.50. Join a Troon-managed operation and grow knowledge of golf club operations.

Responsibilities include guiding players, managing tee times, maintaining course conditions, and ensuring guest satisfaction with safe work practices.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Possesses basic math skills.
• Regular and reliable attendance.

Responsibilities

• Starts players on the first tee explaining the rules of play for the day.
• Maintains an accurate starting sheet so the whereabouts of players are known.
• Cues groups to move to the first tee and ensures not more than one group is on the tee at a time.
• Tours the course assisting players to maintain posted pace of play.
• Checks restrooms and water stations on a regular schedule.
• Maintains proper spacing on the course to avoid delays.
• Completes the golfer tracking report daily.
• Reminds players of cart rules of the day.
• Repairs ball marks and replaces hazard signage as needed.
• Communicates with the Golf Shop and Starter regularly.
• Monitors the course and ensures customer satisfaction.
• Assists golfers when needed.
• Reports problems to Head Professional in a timely manner.
• Performs other duties as required.
