Job summary

The City of Longview WA is seeking part-time Guest Services staff for Mint Valley Municipal Golf Course. You will assist with daily golf operations, manage play flow, handle cash, stock merchandise, and support events while ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for patrons.

Applicants with prior golf, food handling, or retail experience are preferred. Background checks are required, and training in first aid and alcohol server procedures will be provided as needed.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of golf play, rules and etiquette conducive to acceptable play.
• Knowledge of proper golf course conditions.
• Knowledge of the methods and techniques for cashiering.
• Able to apply First Aid for minor accidents.
• English language communication required.
• Ability to enforce rules firmly and professionally.
• Willingness to perform custodial and laboring functions.
• Safe work practices.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests, check in and collect fees.
• Inform players about play schedules, conditions and rules.
• Prepare and position golf carts; assist with cleaning and maintenance.
• Assist with merchandise display, inventory, promotions and sales.
• Stay informed about promotions and club activities.
• Collect and wash golf balls; operate equipment to retrieve balls.
• Assist with fee accounting and clerical records.
• Support in tournaments and special events.
• Provide first aid if needed and ensure guest safety.
• Perform routine cleaning and minor maintenance as required.
• Ensure a safe and enjoyable golf experience for patrons.
• Take food orders and participate in food prep.
• Conduct inventory counts and report to management.
• Maintain daily cleaning of food service areas per health standards.
• Assist Golf Recreation Specialist and Golf Operations Manager as needed.
• Perform other duties as required.
