Job summary

Brevard County Board of County Commissioners is seeking a part-time GIS/CAD technician to support the Survey team. The role involves preparing and updating digital survey maps, sketches, and exhibits and inputting GIS data for asset mapping.

The position requires 30 semester hours of related coursework or two years of CAD/GIS experience, and a Florida driver's license is required. Work is part-time with a schedule Monday through Wednesday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., up to six months.

Qualifications

• Thirty (30) semester hours of college-level coursework towards a technical degree in Surveying, Engineering, CAD Drafting, GIS, Geomatics, or related field.
• Or two (2) years of experience in CAD drafting or GIS input and mapping.
• Qualifying education and/or experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and update digital survey maps, sketches, and exhibits; and input GIS data for GIS asset maps.
• Support the survey team office staff with mapping and drafting tasks as needed.
