Job summary

The MedServ Group is seeking a Part-Time Optometrist to provide comprehensive eye care to residents in a nursing home and long-term care setting. The role offers flexible scheduling and an independent contractor arrangement as a 1099 provider, with compensation at $1,125 per day for 22-25 patients.

You will perform routine and medical eye examinations, diagnose and manage ocular conditions, prescribe eyewear, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to improve residents' vision

Qualifications

• OD degree from an accredited institution.
• Current state optometry license in good standing.
• Experience working with geriatric populations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive eye examinations for nursing home residents.
• Diagnose and manage common eye conditions.
• Prescribe eyeglasses as needed.
• Maintain electronic medical records promptly.
• Educate patients on eye health and treatment compliance.
• Follow VA policies, HIPAA regulations, and federal healthcare standards.
