Job summary

The MedServ Group is seeking a Part-Time Optometrist to provide comprehensive eye care in a nursing home and long-term care setting. You will perform routine and medical eye exams, diagnose and manage ocular conditions, and collaborate with healthcare staff to improve residents' visual health and quality of life.

The role offers a flexible part-time schedule with compensation of $1,125 per day, serving 22–25 patients per visit, and all doctors operate as independent contractors (1099).

Qualifications

• OD degree with current state license in good standing.
• Experience with geriatric populations preferred.
• Ability to work independently within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive eye examinations for nursing home residents.
• Diagnose and manage eye conditions such as cataracts, glaucoma, AMD, diabetic retinopathy, and dry eye.
• Prescribe eyeglasses as needed.
• Maintain accurate EMR records and complete documentation promptly.
• Educate residents on eye health, prevention, and treatment adherence.
• Follow VA policies, HIPAA regulations, and federal healthcare standards.
