Job summary

Ray & Joan Kroc Corps Community Center – Chicago is seeking a part-time General Music Instructor to lead introductory group music classes for ages 6–14. You will develop curriculum, assessments, and collaborate with the community to expand music programs.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Music or equivalent, plus several years of teaching experience and skills in curriculum design. Participation in staff meetings and potential extra classes are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Music or equivalent qualified performance experience.
• Three years required, five years preferred teaching experience in classroom or private/group lessons.
• Experience in curriculum development.

Responsibilities

• Teach group music lessons for after-school program and summer day camp; focus on exploratory music-making and basic concepts (pitch, rhythm, melody).
• Design and implement curriculum, assessments, and lesson plans; provide activity summaries to manager.
• Develop partnerships with schools/organizations for music programming.
