West Hills Community College District seeks a Part-time Adjunct Faculty member to teach non-credit GED courses (High School Equivalency) across Coalinga, Firebaugh, surrounding areas, and online. The successful candidate will use diverse teaching methods, engage a broad student population, and support students through flexible day, evening, and weekend offerings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a social science, humanities, mathematics, natural science, or liberal studies, or the equivalent.
• Requires a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Instruct and evaluate students effectively in face to face, hybrid, or online classes.
• Implement contemporary teaching methods that enhance learning and utilize technology including Canvas and Civitas.
• Incorporate the use of technology in instructional duties including distance education technologies and MS Office.
• Teach courses consistent with the approved Course Outline of Record.
• Assess and evaluate class content and make changes based on student needs.
• Champion collaborative practices to create an active student-centered environment and address equity gaps.
• Work with counseling/advising and student services to support student needs.
• Advise and assist students.
• Perform all other related duties as assigned.
