Job summary

U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs within the VA Maryland Healthcare System seeks a physician to lead and provide outpatient and inpatient care for a designated medical section.

The role includes specialty care, mainly face-to-face with some virtual appointments, and oversight of administrative actions with nursing support. Requirements include an MD or equivalent, full, unrestricted medical license in the U.S., and completion of an accredited residency leading to board eligibility.

Qualifications

• Current, full, unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in the United States or District of Columbia.
• Completion of residency training in an accredited core specialty leading to board eligibility.
• Approved residencies include ACGME or AOA accredited programs; exceptions for additional training pathways exist.

Responsibilities

• Provide outpatient and inpatient medical and specialty care to designated sections of VAMHCS.
• Oversee administrative actions and procedures with nursing service support.
• Engage in clinical, educational, and research activities as assigned.
• Participate in quality assurance programs and chart reviews, maintain clear documentation for patient care.
