Job summary

VA Maryland Healthcare System seeks an experienced physician to lead and provide inpatient and outpatient care within the assigned medical section. The role includes specialty care, mostly face-to-face with some virtual appointments, and oversight of administrative processes with nursing support.

Requirements include an MD degree, unrestricted US license, residency in a core specialty, and board certification/eligibility.

Qualifications

• MD degree from an approved medical school.
• Unrestricted license to practice medicine in the US.
• Completed residency in an approved core specialty.
• Board certification or eligibility as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical, administrative, educational and research work as assigned.
• Coordinate patient care and communicate with patients and medical staff.
• Supervise and collaborate with nursing staff and midlevel providers.
• Participate in quality assurance, CME activities, and medical staff committees.
• Provide part-time clinical coverage including endoscopic procedures as needed.
